Thank you, but I noticed this problem occurs in one of my XP laptops too!

Everything shows up fine in device manager. I just don't get the little icon
in the systray.

They all work on my other 98 computer. But I also just learned that they do
not work on my husband's new XP laptop. He says he never gets the
notification there. So, to sum up, the devices appear...

I'm referring to my flash drives and external hard drive. I only thought
about this problem when some info on a flash drive got corrupted and I
believe it is because I didn't "safely" disconnect...
