recycle bin is clear of all prior file names and icons. Thanks, Gary.

I appreciate the advice, but the icons and names of non-existent files remain
in my recycle bin. Can I delete the recycle bin, and reinstall it? Or
reinstall Windows? Anyone encounter this before...

Thanks, Don. I'm not clear on how to do what you instructed. At the "C"
prompt, I should type:

DELTREE /recycled folder iii

and hit "enter"? I'm not doing something correctly.

Please clarify....
