Someone did write the code. Microsoft did it. The drivers exist but the .INF
file did not.
Maximus-decim from MSFN forums made a package with all the required files
for generic mass storage...

EMM386 is not required to run Windows. Just remove it from CONFIG.SYS.

Activate power management and wait until the HDD enters the power saving
mode. If you hear the "clink" then it's normal.
