I am actually getting two options at bootup after an overnight 'turnoff'.
The first one is F1 followed by F2.
This doesn't happen after say an hour or two, just after one day to the next...

Thanks for that Jeff,
It was in fact the battery that was down well under the 3v, so replaced that
and the F1 nag went away. It did then as you say want to set things to the
default settings, which...
