Internal HD defrag
Thanks! I ended up defraging in Safe mode. It took forewer (just as
Ron's site says -- 1st time in 10 years), but it worked. I'll try Vopt
instead of Disk Defragmenter next time.

Internal HD defrag
I tried defragmenting the internal HD (Disk Defragmenter), but the
process keeps restarting itself after about 30% completion. I assume
it is because there is something running in the background,...

Thanks for your registry listings. I imported your exported listings
for both keys, but unfortunately, no changes -- the pull-down menu is
still blank. Any other suggestions?

Hi, my parents are running Win98 SE, and I noticed that the Regional
Settings pull-down menu was blank -- nothing to select from. They have
recently added a lot of stuff on their PC, so I am not sure...
