I think I could not select the file, only the drive, becuase it was the
first thing I tried. Now I can't try it anymore becuase the system does not
ask for missing files anymore, it reinstalls...

Thank you , I will now try.
The first suggestion was the thing I tried at the beginning, but the system
did not accept the CD-ROM-drive, but sprung always back to
C:/Windowa/Options/CABs

I tried wgat you suggested and copied the 3 files to system32/drivers and
then started the driver again. It asekd for some more files and the three
named one to copy them to Options/cabs-Folder....

..Thank you, now I restored the system and the networking card seems to be
installed correctly. But now the USB does not fonction anymore with the
notice: The NTKERN.VxD device loaders for this...

copied new 3com drivers to the folder, the system crashes down every time I
