Got a son living in the Petrified Forest outside of Calistoga and they're on
high alert.
I'll find the programs I need. Would have been easier to just throw in disk....

I'm going to see if I can run down the tech and find out.
I wish now I would have held on to my old win98se disks that had 98 programs
on, i.e. Adobe Reader, etc.
None of the newer version run on...

Correct. Even with HD removed still get same msg and lockup.
Need to stop by office today before heading out of town tomorrow so will try
'End' key.
Will also look for any Suspend modes in...

The more I read on this the more I'm thinking that the system had WinXP.
According to one article I read (and maybe I'm wrong) is that by running
WinXP, and maybe Win2k, you didn't need the HDPrep...

Once startup stops at the "invalid hibernation-----", that's it.
Was wondering about taking the HD out putting it in one of my dsktops and
reinstalling Win.

I've got all kinds of 'stuff' here, 4 meg video cards, 5 gig HD, etc., etc.
but not that. As you can tell I keep everything. Same with old cell...

D/L and copied to a floppy BootItng.exe. (had to d/l on another system)
Made a bootable floppy when I installed Win98se.
Problem is, Iv'e set BIOS to read floppy 1st, Cd 2nd and...
