WIN 2K Pro hangs/freezes on installation
I am trying to install WIN 2K Pro on an IBM NetVista desktop (2251-TAU) and
it freezes on the Win 2K Pro splash screen with the starting up progress bar

Hi Mike, this is NOT a hacked version of Win ME. It came with the IBM system.
The 2 Recovery CDs are titled IBM Product Recovery CD 1 and CD 2 NetVista.
Could it be since IBM put these together,...

Once I get the Startup Menu I go into Command prompt only. I can successfully
do a scandisk /all (with some files being fixed). When I try to do a scanreg

Hi Mike,
The screen that comes up on reboot is titled "Microsoft Windows Millennium
Startup Menu" There are actually 6 options. Same 4 as in previous note and 5.
Command prompt only 6. Safe mode...

Hi Mart, yes I did do a clean install, FDISK (erased partition, created new
single partition, then a FORMAT (FAT32). Also, when the recovery CDs start
they also do a FORMAT and then install Win Me...
