Change HD partitioning
I am trying to help a lady with a Sony Laptop that has Windows ME OS.
I came with a 12 GB hard drive partitioned as a 5 GB C drive and a 7 GG D drive.
Of course she had no idea how to use the D drive...

Adding memory causes slowdown?
Did you check with a reputable memory supplier for exactly what memory your make and model would
use?
Try www.crucial.com for a check.
A quick look showed a whole lot of models of the IBM PC300PL...

The Windows ME defrag program can be copied to Windows 98 and it does improve the performance of the
defrag significantly. That is the patch they were most likely talking about. It was available...

ms word freezes computer
Try starting word from the run command.
type in:
winword /a
If that works, you have a corrupted "normal.dot" file
Do a search for "normal.dot" (without the quotes) and delete all copies.
