Interpretation of failures and delays at boot.
Well, it looks like my drive is bad. Here is what happened.
Went to the Western Digital site www.wdc.com. Until your
suggestion, I didn't know this free disk diagnosis service
was available....

Uninstalled the Norton Anti-Virus program and the only
long delays remaining (72.33 secs. total) are for the many
entries which occur before TSRQuery is run. Here is a copy
of the excerpted list...

My Logitech plugs into a serial port. What I did to
replace with a standard mouse driver was this:

Have never used MSBackup, so uninstalled and then changed
file names per instruction. The tape detection has been
disabled and it seems to be working okay so far!

Hello Glen,
Thanks for your reply and help. I switched to the standard
MS mouse driver, and it cut the load time down to 17
secs. - better, but that still seems a long time.
I do have Msbackup...
