Still cannot Install Media Player 9 Update

I keep trying to start it, but it does not start downloading. It just sits
there with no progress on download. If I cancel out of it, it crashes
Explorer.

What setting in the firewall could cause this problem? Maybe something
happened since the last update, but Update always worked ok previously.

Firewall *might* be the issue. Surely it's easy to test.

Otherwise, I suggest you use the Windows Updates Catalogue. At Windows
Updates, click on Personalize. Enable the Catalogue. Save the change and
then go to the catalogue. Choose the proper OS (and if you want to make it
quicker, choose Advanced search and narrow the date to the last month.)
Should come up with the proper patch. Download and then install.

Thanks for the response but even when I did that it would not download. But
I found the problem. There is a Microsoft support bulletin about this
issue. I followed the instructions & ran Mcrepair.exe. After that I was
able to download.

Cool! Do you have the URL for that bulletin? Or the KB or bulletin number?
I'd like to have a look at it.
