It should do - you've just failed to load a virus/spyware!!
Open MSCONFIG - click on the Startup tab, then the Cleanup button. Click OK,
and reboot on request - if the message appears again,
You may still have a virus/spyware hijack

download the Stinger from here and run it to make sure that A-V-disabling
viruses are not present on your PC
http://download.nai.com/products/mca...rt/stinger.exe

- update your virus scanner and run a full system scan of all files.

Reboot to Safe Mode and run CWShredder - to remove variants of the
CoolWebSearch hijacker.
http://www.merijn.org/cwschronicles.html

Use CWShredder, the removal tool:
http://www.merijn.org/files/cwshredder.zip
http://www.merijn.org/files/CWShredder.exe
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads...CWShredder.exe
http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/CWShredder.zip

download AdAware from www.lavasoftusa.com, install, update, and run it to
remove spyware, adware,
and other such nasties from your system.

SYSDLL.REG
This file was almost certainly used by a website you visited to put its
payload into the registry after which it probably deleted the file hence it
being missing when you boot your PC. At a guess it is a hijacker of some
sort.

You can remove the message you are seeing by using MSConfig (Start, Run, enter
MSConfig in the box and click OK), open the startup tab and uncheck any line
that includes a reference to sysdll.reg. Now reboot.

When did you last check your system for commercial parasites and other
malware?

May I strongly recommend that you check your system for unwanted commercial
malware, parasites and the like using the free AdAware
(http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and SpyBot Search & Destroy
(http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/). Other useful tools include
BHOCaptor (http://www.xcaptor.org) that checks for unwanted Browser Help
Objects and SpywareBlaster
(http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html) which can help prevent
some parasites getting a grip on your PC.

However your problem could be due a variant of the odious CoolWebSearch
hijacker and the best way of removing this is to use merijn's CWShredder which
can be downloaded from either:
http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/CWShredder.zip
or
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip

For more details of the CoolWebSearch hijacker see
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html.

I get a similar error message on Windows Me startup -
"Cannot import C:/Windows/sys.reg: Error opening the
file. There may be a disk or file system error." Any
ideas ??

Scan your system for viruses, trojans, commercial parasites and other malware.
sys.reg is, or rather was, part of such a malicious package, perhaps
Adware.Raxums
(http://securityresponse.symantec.com...re.raxums.html)
although there are other possibilities. Use MSConfig, (Start | Run, enter
MSConfig and then click OK), open the Startup tab and look for an entry that
either refers to a sys.reg file (or whatever). When found, uncheck the entry
and reboot. This should hopefully stop you seeing the message each time you
boot. sys.reg was probably used by a homepage hijack to reset your homepage.

Download yourself a copy of the free Ad-Aware 6.0 from Lavasoft
(http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and also the free SpyBot
(http://www.safer-networking.org/) and scan your system for and remove all
unwanted parasites, adware and spyware that might be hiding on your PC.

You may have picked up one of the many variants of the odious CoolWebSearch
hijacker. See http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html and also
http://www.pestpatrol.com/pestinfo/c/cws.asp.

Download and run CWShredder, meirjn's removal tool from either:

or
