Microsoft works suite

I get an error message when I try to use microsoft word
6.0. It says files are damaged or corrupted.I did a remove
and reinstall files with the backup disk and all of the
files are back inplace but I still get an error message.
The files work but how can I remove the error message? My
computer is a Dell Dimension L1000R with windows millinium.

What's the EXACT error message?

try this....
Reboot - then do a Search for files named Normal.dot.
Rename any found to Normal.jnk
reboot, and open Word - see if it works now.
