Locking taskbar in win98SE?
I might be confusing Win98SE with Windows ME or 2000, but wasn't there
a registry change or permission somewhere that would allow you to lock the taskbar against accidental changes the way you can in Windows XP? I have an old win98 machine and have the problem of occasionally accidentally changing the order of my QuickLaunch icons, or accidentally changing the size of my taskbar which messes up the placement of the QuickLaunch toolbar vs the part with all the program window titles. This usually has the effect of messing up my icon placement. Was there a way to lock it in Win98? I thought I saw that done back at my old college, but that might have been the product of an expensive third party security program. I don't want to throw any money at this old computer, so I'm only interested in free solutions. |
