Hi Terry,
The proper way to get rid of TIF's (in IE6):
StartSettingsControl PanelInternet Options, and clisk "Delete Files", and
check the "Delete Offline content" box. Ok your way out.
Another way, if you're already in IE:
ToolsInternet Options, and click Delete Files
If you're running an earlier version of IE, the process is slightly
different, but I trust you can find it.
The above mentioned methods are preferable to going into the individual
folders, and deleting manually.

Right click internet explorer. click "delete files" this gets rid of
subject. but when I look in the temporary internet files in C windows they
are still there. so why is this?
