Restarting messes my printer up.

I have an HP V40 Four-in-One printer. I have had it for about three or
four years, and I love it. Recently, I uninstalled some programs
through Add/Remove. There where a lot of files that I "didn't" get rid
of because in the past I made the mistake of clicking "Yes to All", and
messed up my system. Well it's happening again. When I restart, my
printer tells me to "Remove and check color cartridge". I do that, then
it has to be re-alined . I do that, and usually the problem goes away.
This sure using up my ink. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.

Kind regards all,

JB
