Unbale to browse specific website
I've got a clients computer, running Windows ME, that is unable to view
images from a certain family of websites. All the sites seem to use the same server for their .jpg images. On my computer, running through the same router, these sites display normally. If I save a page from the websites in question, and put them on my server, then the ME pc can browse it successfully. So, there's no issue with it not being able to display .jpgs, or with page coding. I can successfully ping the ip address of the server with the images. Trying to browse directly to a picture gives a "page cannont be found" error 404. For some reason, this computer is unable to access files on this specific server. It's bizzare. Anyone got any suggestions??? I've reset IE settings. Tried Firefox, with the same result. Checked the host file, etc, etc. The websites in question are www.trademe.co.nz, and any of their sister sites - www.oldfirends.co.nz etc. |

Yup, it can ping the site and get a response. I've check the host file and
restricted sites, both are as expected. Cheers "Mike M" wrote in message ... Can the problem PC ping these sites? Have they perhaps been blocked, either by an entry in the hosts file or some other means such as having been put in the Restricted Sites zone (Internet Options | Security)? -- Mike Maltby k1w1 wrote: I've got a clients computer, running Windows ME, that is unable to view images from a certain family of websites. That site appears to have RedSherrif cookies - perhaps you have an
aggressive security policy in place? -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2006, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.crashfixpc.com/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's "k1w1" wrote in message ...
