no sound from media player
 

I can play a music cd in cdrom and the music plays on the speakers plugged
into sound card. But can't get any other sounds. I can't choose a preferred
play/record device or no other media control device. Thought maybe sound card
installed new and same thing. I am useing win.98SE on a cyrix M II 333 66MHz
4x. If anyone can help I would be very greatful. It is the last problem in a
long project to fix an old abused machine. Thanks.
