Setting up a printer using TCP/IP in Windows98
I have a printer that is attachedto machines using a
standard TCP/IP port. When I go try to install this printer on a windows98 machine, I don't get the option to add a TCP/IP port. Does anyone know how to get or setup this port? |

The printer manufacturer should be able to supply the utility that Windows
98 requires in order to access a printer using TCP/IP. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (DTS) "Aaron Heiner" wrote in message ... I have a printer that is attachedto machines using a standard TCP/IP port. I am trying to do the same thing an am having problems.
You first have to add a port and assign the name as the IP address. After that you should be able to set it up. But,when I try to setup a port, I get a message that says "no configuration is needed." Meanwhile my other WIN98 machine has other options available in the printer detail windows. I think my version of WIN 98 is incomplete. Please post your answers. Good luck. -----Original Message----- I have a printer that is attachedto machines using a standard TCP/IP port.
