No Internet Access
 

I am trying to get out on the internet though my Linksys router. I can share
files to my main Windows XP machine. I cann ping 216.109.118.68 (yahoo) from
a dos promt and get a reply. The ME machine had Norton Utilities installed,
but the person said that that is when the problems began so I uninstalled it.
I installed spybot and AntiVir (from the downloads that I burned). I am at
wits end. Just trying to get the machine functional for my friend. Any
suggestions?

WOW thank you. I don't know how you (folks who answer our questions) know all
these answers, but thanks thanks thanks. Will this program help on an XP
machine that won't install Service Pack 2, probably because I ran Spybot and
AntiVir before I started the install

I misread some of the first message. For WinMe use LSP-Fix - a free program
to repair damaged Winsock 2 stacks

What error message do you get trying to install SP2?
