always wants to install
Reinstalled win98 2ed over itself to resolved an explorer (desktop) error.
Now when I try to run any MS office application, or when I try to install new software, I get a box prompting me to insert the MS frontpage 2002 CD. And I get that box twice. After dismissing both windows, I can then proceed with an installation. However, none of the office products will launch. All I get is the box, twice, and then nothing more. -- Bill PhotoSourceFolio webmaster http://www.photosourcefolio.com |
Just a guess but I'd try uninstalling Office and then reinstalling it.

Problem is that there is no listing for office in the add/remove programs.
I think this computer has had a number of different office installs, or at least attempts. There is also an "activate office XP" that doesn't work, but I'm willing to tackle one at a time. :-) So, how to uninstall all remnants of office 2002, including front page, when there are no available CD's and it's not listed in add/remove programs? Thanks. "Ron Badour" wrote in message ... The only way I know is to manually delete the entries from the registry;
however, there is no guarantee you will get them all. Perhaps a post to an Office newsgroup would be your best bet. As a last resort, back up all your data and format the drive. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "Bill H." wrote in message ... And whenever I launch windows update from the start button, the windows
installer launches and asks for that same frontpage 2002 CD, twice! "Ron Badour" wrote in message ... What happens if you give it the CD it's asking for?

Therein lies the problem. Don't have that one.
