switching back to ME from XP Pro
I have XP Pro as an operating system and I hate it! I
previously had ME and I loved it. I had a computer built, the first of this year, and I used the old hard drive which had used the ME Operating System. Can I reinstall ME, from the original disc, which I still have, onto this hard drive again, or, can I put ME alongside XP on the hard dirve . Frankly, I'd prefer to have only ME as the sole operaing system. Thanks, Grayghost |

Why do you "hate" XP Pro?

It is only my opinion, but it feels incomplete and
tenative. I get the feeling XP was marketed way too soon, before it should have been, and, as a result was never "finished". The seemingly continous flow of updates makes me suspicious of the reliability of the system and I have never been able to get "comfortable" with it. I like my computer, but I have come to dread lighting it up with XP. The reports of the coming SP-2 update does nothing to elevate my reliance on XP, in fact it underscores my misgivings about it. Much of the SP-2 (reported in the press and elsewhere)I have already secured from other sources and I am quite happy with their performance. As a result, I will not be installing the SP-2 Update. I'm sure XP Pro is a wonderful system for some, if not most. But, I do not like it. -----Original Message----- Why do you "hate" XP Pro? I believe , sir, that I represented my opinion as exactly
that, my opinion! I was asked for it, and I gave it. I lay claim to no knowledge other than that of my own experience and my opinion reflects that. I do not require, not do I expect, others to agree with me. I am not that insecure. -----Original Message----- I find the contents of your post quite amazing! XP was extensively tested and when released "out of the box" was undoubtedly better than any previously released Microsoft operating system. Whilst you are clearly entitled to your opinions they are just that and do not IMO reflect reality. Or at least that reality experienced by the many millions currently using a version of XP. As for SP2 this raises the level of security in XP to a level way beyond that of any Microsoft operating system. -- Mike Maltby grayghost wrote: It is only my opinion, but it feels incomplete and tenative.
