W98 print server but no driver for W2K
We've got an old HP 7580B plotter. HP doesn't have a driver for W2K, only
for W95 (&3.1). So I'm sharing the Plotter on a W95 machine. But how can a W2K Pro client print to that printer if no printer is available and a W95 driver won't install on W2K.? |
If there is no driver included in Windows 2000 and none available then the
Windows 2000 PC cannot print to it. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "Georgia Sam" wrote in message ... We've got an old HP 7580B plotter. HP doesn't have a driver for W2K, only for W95 (&3.1). Windows 2000 comes with a generic driver for HP GL plotters. If you are
willing to do some experimenting, you may find you can use that plotter from Windows 2000 Pro using the technique described at http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/NetPrinterNoPP.htm. At step 8, select Manufacturer: HP, Printers: Hewlett-Packard HP-GL/2 Plotter. -- Bruce Sanderson MVP It's perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
