Cell Phones

First... please do not UPPERCASE me nor get in my face about posting this
message here.

I trust and like people who are a part of this newsgroup, and value their
opinion. So many have helped me throughout the years.

With that out of the way...

I am about to purchase a new cell phone after having mine for over 10 years.
I am very confused as to what cell phone be would be the best bang for the
buck as well having all the bells and whistles I want.
I have been leaning towards the HTC Touch Pro2.
I want Blue Tooth (of course) GPS (with voice navigation), web browsing,
texting, voice activated calling, camera, video, etc.
I do not like the iPhone, because it is solely touch screen, and AT&T is one
of the worse companies in regards to customer service in my opinion.

Please help me to make a decision.

I did a lot of research and went to the stores, but I still do not know.

Thanks folks!
SGB

Cell Phones

I always go for the phone that I can do the most for.
like new battery without going back to the factory
new headset without having to buy one made by the same phone company
a phone thats not locked on one network (ie... the dirty word "Roam")

stuff like that

Well to be honest I'd just want a phone that would make and receive calls
and have easy to use buttons, not ones that are so small one finger covers
the whole lot g

I'm with you Joan, I use a Nokia 5210 (needs a new case - the rubber
battery-connector cover 'hinge' has perished). No fancy ring tones, camera,
display, or other gimmicks and although I carry it daily (and charge it a
couple of times per week), I rarely use it. But it completely fulfil my
needs.

AT&T does have lousy customer service, but there are ways around it (like
hollering and screaming). Their biggest drawback is poor coverage, regardless
of what their ads say. Therefore, if your area coverage is decent, the Iphone
is the way to go. If not, any phone using Motorola's Droid system is the
answer. MS really dropped the ball in this consumer category that they could
have been leading.

Me too.....you two. Ron and I have identical Samsung flip phones that
actually even has a camera (8 pictures). They are also *quad phones* and I
used mine in Portugal with no problem. Keys are a good size (he's blind)
and I disconnected the internet on his. They have Blue Tooth (new law says
we can't talk and drive)........but all in all, we just wanted a phone.

Unfortunately, 2 of them cost me about $55/month. I will be changing once
the new company gets up and running. Our rates are horrendous!! Probably
go with Pay as you Go.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.

Ron and Heather

It is not out for the general public...it is an internal cellphone for
Google employees.

But they are allegedly working on producing them.
