Virus or what?
Hi!
Im having an strange problem with my Windows 98 SE system. This has appear recently... I opened a floppy disk and then some rare behaviors appear; specially in the Windows Explorer... now I cant see directories with the View like "a Web Page" feature enable... I check for recently files changed... and found that: msisys.vxd was recently changed, and I havent do any process to change that file... is this normal? I have apply Ad-Aware SE professional and scan all the system, but this problem is still there... I have erased that file, should I recover it? I have also found that some files like: desktop.ini folder.htt are always saving to floppies when I use them... is this correct?; and the floppy drives also takes some extra time to read the information on disks, and this was not working that way... and a message in Windows Explorer also appear when I change directories on drive C:, saying that an activeX control is missing... I think is that msisys.vxd file can I restore it from the Win98 CD... how? this is really making me feel uncomfortable, because I dont want my system be harm... it was working fine before using that disk... I need your help, how can I make this be back to normal... I have use the "scanreg /restore" command to restore from a previous version of the system file but "nothing"... this is really strange... what has changed??? Please help me. Thanks for your time and support as ever! Jim. |
