When running defrag in safe mode with McAfee Security
Center running, defrag reaches 66%, gives an
error "Explorer has caused an invalid page fault in
module kernel32.dll".

If I run defrag in safe mode without McAfee Security
Center running, defrag completes no problem.

Anyone have any comments.

Hi Tom,

McAfee is famous for causing problems like this along
with causing performance problems. I would suggest dumping
McAfee and going to another virus application such as eTrust.
You will not see the problems above running eTrust.

Stick with running it in safe mode that way there is little
that you need do as far as ensure running progs are not
causing you a problem.
