Long file name Problem

I have a long file name problem.

I have registered for a forum , and I'm not here to
advertise it but,as much as it is beautiful, the actual
file name of it is a great big advertising speal with 266
characters to it.
Each time my computer does a scan , I'm prompt about this
long file name...I've looked for the file for a long time
and finally found it this morning... No kidding a file
name with 266 characters in it...I tried to rename
it...then I am prompt again telling me that the file
cannot be changed, and when leaving it changed I can't
click on anything without that prompt coming up again.

I have to reboot the computer and then the long file name
is back...Please would someone please tell me what to do
about this long file extention, there must be another way
to do it?

I look forward to your reply ..
Thank You
Canapril

Usually you can get that message when running Scandisk in Dos Mode.
Running it from Windows may clear it up.
