DNS Hardwired on Host Table

I assume that is the problem anyway. My computer refuses to change the DNS
of a website that has changed servers. I have checked and it isn't a browser
problem. I've also talked with my old and new webhost and both are telling
me it is my computers problem. At any rate, emptying caches (including the
DNS caches) does no good. When I ping the site I still get the old DNS. I
know it has changed and others are going to the new location (the site was
changed sugnificantly so it is obvious that they have the new site at the new
location). I haven't a clue how to get to my host table but that is the only
place I can think of to look.
Help.

If the IP address of the site has only recently changed it could take
anything up to a couple of days for the new address to fully propagate to
all DNS servers worldwide.

It is possible, of course, that you have added the site to your HOSTS file
(no extension). If present this is located in the Windows folder on
machines running Win Me. This is plain text file and can be opened using
Notepad. Check whether it contains an entry for the site concerned and if
it does either remove the entry or adjust the IP address accordingly.
Please Note however that if the only hosts files is one named hosts.sam
then this is a sample file and your system has no hosts file which takes
us back to the new address not yet having propagated fully worldwide.

Thank you so much for replying. I looked at my hosts file and it is empty so
I guess that isn't the problem. It has been 10 days since the change was
made so I assume (and my IP tells me this is true) that it has propagated all
DNS servers worldwide.
Do you have any suggestions? I am getting all other websites that I try,
even those that have recently changed servers.
