Task Scheduler Service won't start

Hi, folks. I'm having trouble getting scheduled tasks to start on a
client's PC. This is a fresh install of ME with IE SP1 and AOL 9 installed.
I have scheduled a few tasks, such as defrag and scandisk, but they cannot
start. I have clicked on "Advanced\Start using Task Scheduler" but the
scheduler hangs for a minute and then a dialog pops up telling me only that
the "Task Scheduler Service could not start." I checked the log and it
seems that the scheduler "cannot find the file specified" for any task, even
though the executable paths are entered in each task listing. I have
reinstalled IE6 SP1, thinking that this may correct the problem to no avail.
Anyone have any ideas?

Task Scheduler Service won't start

Never mind; I found the solution. KB article 215937 explains that the Task
Scheduler won't start if the volume label for the hard disk has the same
name as the Windows folder. I changed the label and it's working
wonderfully.

Thank you for your time!

Phil
