QUIZ - please participate

Many things have been said recently as to what may or may not
happen after midnight May 31 - some entertaining, some not. Many
"farewells" have taken place - perhaps unnecessarily, perhaps
not.

There seems to be no consensus as to what WILL happen. Although
anyone familiar with the origins, design, history, and "ways" of
Usenet /should/ know. Still, we have a MAJOR player involved -
Microsoft.

This quiz may be a ***////really//// stupid*** idea, but I feel
whatever happens will test the Usenet's supposed
indestructibility Vs. the power of Microsoft, and possibly hint
at future developments. And I am curious about what people think
without having to read a bunch of 200-line-post threads which
from the glances I took, arrive at no conclusions.

So, the question - to be replied to by replacing "please
participate" in the subject line with a 'YES' or 'NO' - is:

Will this group (and some/all other microsoft.* newsgroups)
still be "here" after that moment in time?

'YES' means the group(s) will continue except people using MS-
controlled or "heavily-MS-influenced" ;-] servers will not be
able to access it/them.

'NO' means it will "disappear" along with all other microsoft.*
groups.

For "bonus points", (don't ask me what that would be), IF the
group(s) continue, will Google Groups also continue to carry
them? (That could be added in the body, I suppose, or by adding
G=1 for yes or G=0 for no, or something.)

(For "SUPER-EXTRA bonus points", you can express your opinion on
whether the next release of everyone's favorite browser -
OffByOne - should include a newsreader ;-] )

if the NG begins with "microsoft.public", or "alt". It's
what's posted that counts.

Undeniably true, and thank you for participating, although it
was just noise AFA the "poll".
You really have NO idea and don't care just WHAT will happen?

Not only does the NG disappear on that date -- but anyone actually
viewing the NG at that moment turns into a smoke monster! Be careful!
