Transparent Windows
Has anyone encountered a product similar to these features here for Win ME.

No, and I don't think you are likely to do so as Win 9x operating systems
including Win Me don't support this feature. If you haven't already have a look at Stardock's WindowBlinds (http://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/) which may just have what you are looking for. I've not tried as I'm not a fan of eye candy and prefer instead to consider my PCs as tools to enable me to carry out the jobs I want them to do rather than look different. g For example I run in what is called classic mode both in Win Me and also XP.. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Sean wrote: Has anyone encountered a product similar to these features here for Win ME. http://www.chime.tv/products/glass2k.shtml Thanks |

I, on the other hand think eye-candy's cool. It puts too much of a strain on my Win2k+old graphics hardware to use for everything, but I've made my taskbar transparentish without losing response time. thanks, Rick |

On how to complete this.
Actually, after all that with the transparent icons. Now, considering removing them altogethor and incorporate a transparent folder for them. Havent completed reviewing this particular software of fluxbox to complete this. |
Rick, what sort of program have you used to enable the taskbar as transparent?
Also, do you find when your computer loads that these setting occur after everything has loaded. For example, the icon program Ive used to enable transparency for the background to display, only loads after everything else has been enabled. Essentially, getting this flash of the old icons and their background and then disappears as windows finishes loading. Thanks |

I would've tried to transparentize :) other things but my processor/grpahics card ain't up to it (slows everything down). Also, do you find when your computer loads that these setting occur after everything has loaded. It happens when the g2k program loads... hmmm... even when I unload it (out of systray and not in the full tasklist) my taskbar is still transparent... neat. For example, the icon program Ive used to enable transparency for the background to display, only loads after everything else has been enabled. I still haven't got that functionality (it didn't work properly when I tried it on the desktop icons) Rick Essentially, getting this flash of the old icons and their background and then disappears as windows finishes loading.
