Exception OE @ 0028
Hello. I get this Exception OE @ 0028: E95FC220 in VXD___. and it says this
was called from 0028: C001D3B4 in VXD NDIS (01)+00005B30 and gives the option of pressing any key to continue (which does not) or CTRL+ALT+DEL. scan disk does not find any error. This happens when I exit IE the monitor goes into standby and re awakening takes a long time and shows the message in a blue screen. I searched for the first sentence and came up empty. I am running win ME with all the updates, running ad-aware, shredder, spybot and the whole 9 yard. I would truly appreciate an insight into this problem. |
I suspect that some hardware device is not returning gracefully from standby
status. Prevent such standby option, in Control Panel / Power Management. Alternatively, determine the offending device and remove / replace it. Jack thanks for the kind reply. there is nothing on standby in power
management. I have them all at "never". How do I go by determining the offending device? Thanks for the links. I'll be checking them shortly. "How do I go by determining the offending device? "
A simple method is to disable devices, one at a time, using the General tab of the Property Sheet for the device in Device Manager. After doing so, test the machine as usual. This can be quite tedious! Begin with any NIC device. BTW, why is the machine going to standby, if such is disabled in Power Management? Examine the BIOS setup program for same. -- Jack E. Jack, thanks for taking the time. I will follow your suggestions. I wondered
about the standby myself. maybe because in the advance property of the power management it says so, for when I press the sleep button on my computer which is on my keyboard. Thanks again.
