Password on Boot up
Can anyone tell me how to set up a password on Windows
98SE so that you have to use a password to access the computer? I have set up computers with passwords but the reality is, all you have to do is press escape at the login screen and you bypass the logon and have full access to the computer. I want to set it up so you cannot access the computer at all without a password. This is a standalone computer, no network. Thanks, Greg |
MVP Doug Knox has a security procedure on his web site:
http://www.dougknox.com Click "Security" and then "Prevent Unauthorized Users from accessing your computer." As an alternative, your BIOS may have password protection for startup. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo wrote in message ...
