How to set up different default browser on multi user Pc
I prefer atm to use Opera 10.60 as my default browser.
Ma mate still prefers Firefox 3.6.8. We share same PC with separate user profiles. How can we independently each set up preferred browser without overwriting each others preferences? Is this possible in Windows 98SE? |

I don't think there is a way to do so. The default browser is a system-wide setting, even in XP. There's a third-party tool to work around it in XP only, but I have not seen one for Win98 You may be able to work out a batch file to change the default back and forth at each user log-in...still, it's the same as manually changing it as far as the effect. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Oct. 2002 - Sept. 2009 A+ http://dts-l.net/ |

OKs .. no real problem. Have to live wif that. Just wondered if there were a 'modern' solution . So, I will continue to set Firefox as default browser as ma mate, he really prefers that. I continue to use Opera, but it's only a problem like when I click on a link in an email and Firefox starts up. Ed |

Ed If it's real important to you just install Win98 on a second partition and dual boot |
