I received a computer from my friend with Window 98 SE. How do I re-register
my name onto the computer and get rid of his name? Thank you. |
Registration
You can change in manually in Regedit or follow the procedure below: Make up a file from the lines below. Copy into a file called fix.reg which should be created in Notepad. Do not retype, copy in case of errors. The 1st line in the file is the line REGEDIT4 Make sure your mail or news reader does not add any spaces to the end of a line. The last line must be blank. The registered owner is recorded in the registry. Use Registry Editor to

You can not re-register it to your name.
But rename the computer. If the computer is in his name by going to Start Control Panel Network Identification Computer Name put your But in Work Group put mshome always "biganchor" wrote in message ...
