after typing format c:/s I get following message. Insufficient memory to
load system files- format terminated
help

1. If this error message is true you may have bad RAM chips.
2. But it may be untrue (posted by a virus.)
3. Does FORMAT C: run OK (without transferring system files) ?

To add a note to Don's reply, the /s switch is what loads the system files
and it is not needed. Including it can sometimes cause a problem so if:
Format C: works, just use that command.
