I'm presuming that you have other computers (at least one) that is connected
to the network and internet with no problems? If not, if her laptop isn't the only one with problems, or is the only machine on the network, then post back for additional instructions. First, go to Control Panel, then Internet Options, and on the Connections tab click on LAN settings at bottom right and if there is anything checked or listed in there, write it all down in perfect detail (in case we want to revert) and then clear everything. Next, if this is a broadband connection, go to StartRun and type in WINIPCFG. When the dialogue pops up, first click the button "Release All", then "Renew All". What results are returned? Will the machine now connect? -- Gary S.
