Laptop Decision

I currently just got a scholarship for $800.00 towards any laptop that
I want. The only thing is I really dont have a whole lot of extra money
to put into it. I did just get a 300GB external SeaGate harddrive. Does
anyone have any suggestions on to which laptop i should get for best
bang for buck at a decent price? This laptop is based for college but I
also would like to be able to play some games on it as well.
Thanks for the help

Why are you asking this in a Win-98 news group?

Do you want to run windows-98 on your hypothetical new laptop?

If you bought an external HD for no (known to us, anyway) reason
- not to mention the relatively high cost of such hardware - but
are worried $800 won't get you a laptop (there are quite a few
laptops for less than that, and not no-name crap either), then
maybe college is not such a good idea.

I didn't buy it for no reason... as you can tell i said i bought which
is just another factor i dont have to worry about in my laptop. I know
there are plenty of laptops under $800.00. But the way i worded the
question was more towards the lines of what can i get best bang for
buck type of deal.
