Can't use my CD-ROM

When I insert a CD program in my CD-ROM, my computer
doesn't recognize that it's there. I went to Device
Manager and there is an yellow circle with an exclamation
point next to where it says:
"Mitsumi CD-ROM controller with double speed drive".
When I click it it say:
"not present, not working properly, or does not have all
the drivers installed"
It has the exclamation point and states the same problem
where is says "IDE Primary controller", "IDE secondary
controller" and "Standard Floppy Disc Controller":
I have Windows 98, what did I do to my computer and how
can I fix this?

them.

Can't use my CD-ROM

I did it, but it wouldn't let me remove a few of things
that have a !
It didn't let me delete the "IDE Primary controller", "IDE
secondary controller"
Then I restarted the computer and it's still the same, the
computer doesn't recongnize the CD-ROM.
When I click "my computer" it has the floppy disc drive,
the c and d drive but the CD is not being recognized.
Very frustrating...what do I do? I don't want to have to
call a repair guy and pay $$$$
Thanks

Try removing them in safe mode (hold down the ctrl key after the memory
count on the boot screen). If there is still a problem, tell exactly what
you are doing and what the computer does.

Hate to say it but your lack of experience and knowledge is showing which
does equate to spending money to fix things. That's true for almost
everything now adays isn't it?
