Is there any way to make the text in "character map" in WIn98SElarger

I'm tiered of squinting while trying to remember the code for
something like the +/- character. Is there any way to increase the
font size used in Character Map to make it easier to read? I can
change the font with the GUI, but not the size. Yes, I know about
clicking on a character and moving with the arrow keys, but I'd like
to be able to scan the whole thing quickly without squinting. My eyes
just aren't as good as they were when the win98 computer was brand new.

You want something beyond the magnifier app?

Would changing the size of ALL the fonts, icons, etc. be what you want?

You can use a Character Map replacement.
In Win98, I tried these two:
Characteristica:
ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/w...t/mgchrm30.zip

Extended Character Map:
ftp://ftp.externet.hu/pub/mirror/sac/utiltext/ecm.zip

The latter doesn't seem to be available at that site, so you may have
to search a bit. That is the only one I have installed now and it
allows a change of the font size used for display.

Thanks, this works well enough. I probably should have asked for
something like this a while ago, but I was spending too much time in
de main Egyptian river.

I should probably schedule an eye exam to see if I need bifocals as
I'm supposed to be slightly near-sighted, not far-sighted. Either
that, or two pairs of glasses since I rarely wear my glasses except
when driving at night.
