How can I look up the IP address of a computer with Windows 98?

Start | Run | Winipcfg. Select the network adapter from the dropdown
menu.

How about using winXP?

Right click the local area network connection and click Status |
Support.

Another way in both 98 and XP is to type "ipconfig /all" in a command
prompt window.

That has never worked for me. Funny thing is the error message
tells me to type : ipconfig /all
[]'s

It should work. What exactly happens when you type "ipconfig /all"?

Sorry about the "slight" delay ....I missed your reply

C:\WINDOWSipconfig /all
Configuração de IP do Windows 98
Opções da linha de comando:
/All - Exibir informações detalhadas.
/Batch [nome_arq] - Gravar em arquivo ou ./WINIPCFG.OUT
/renew_all - Renovar todos os adaptadores.
/release_all - Liberar todos os adaptadores.
/renew N - Renovar o adaptador N.
/release N - Liberar o adaptador N.

And thats it. Without the "/all" I get stats about my ethernet
and my dialup.(IP, mask and gateway)

Hi here i list out the steps to find the ip address of your windows 98 system .They are
1. Go to your "Start" button and select the "Run" option
2. Type in winipcfg
3. A command window will pop up and list your IP number.
Else if you want to find your network ip address then visit sites like IP-Details.com they will display your network ip address along with details like ip location ,country ,ISP address and so on ...
