Lexmark printer

I am reinstalling a friend's ME system. The lexmark X75
printer worked fine before but when I try to reinstall it
there is no USB port shown on the list of ports, only
COM's and LPT1, and the printer only has a USB
connection, no parallel port. The USB port works OK with
a 64mb Iomega memory stick. Any ideas?

Lexmark printer

You need to run the setup program that comes with it (or download from
lexmark's web site.) The software needs to create a "virtual" USB port.
Usually you need to install the software with the printer turned off, and
then turn it on afterwards, but make sure you read the instructions.

You can't set up a USB printer by going through the "Add printer" wizard.
