cd rom is not accessable
I have an S-1675CDS laptop that's fairly old. I can read any cd that is
created by a professional company but cannot read a cd that is created by me or anyone that sends a cd to me. I get the error: "D: is not accessable. The device is not ready" what is happening? Any help is appreciated. |
cd rom is not accessable
Try cleaning the CD drive.
It is quite possible that the CD is simply not compatible with the types of writeable CD media that you are trying to use, especially if it is a very early model. If it's been created as a write-once CD then W98 might have troubles with it if it's not closed. If it's been created using a re-writeable format then you will need additional software to access it. This is usually included as part of CD-recording software, so it probably already exists on machines that have writeable CD drives. But it can be installed separately for other machines.
