IE has encountered a problem and needs to close.
What an aggravation! And since there have been no solutions to previous
posts, I hope that there is response to volume. Too frequently, when drilling down from one site to another, I get the above message on my W98SE IE Version 6.0.2800.1106. ModName: msvcrt.dll, ModVer: 6.1.8293.0 IffsetL 000154a7. It seems to happen consistently on some sites, and not at all on others. The details reveal: IEXPLORE caused a general protection fault in module USER.EXE at 0003.00006d4f. Thank you. |

I have been having the same error message. I cannot solve the problem either.
Recently I have been getting a crash analysis page from Microsoft, which tells me there is no solution or workaround for the problem, but Microsoft it working on a solution. I was wondering if you have solved you problem? We have the exact same issue. It started when my Mom installed a demo program she was reviewing for a work client. She obviously corrupted the msvcrt.dll file because the date on the file is the day I installed the program. If you have fixed it, what did you eventually do? Sorry Alex - I have had no further "assistance" from MS, and still have the
problem. Fortunately, it does not happen every time on all sites, just frequently on a few sites or situations.
