Network troubles
We just set up a network with our three computers. Two of which have XP and
one has Windows 98 SE. Everything is just fine and peachy for the most part... I can access the Windows 98 computer through my XP computer, but here's the problem. The Windows 98 computer will not let us access the network. It says it can't access the network. What should I try? Thanks. |

Since I had that Network logon coming up (see above post) I was clicking cancel on that logon instead of OK. When you click cancel, you're a generic user. When you click OK, you're "Default User" instead of just a generic user. I read in one of Microsoft's things on the Internet that you must be logged in as a user to view the network. So, I logged off and then instead of clicking cancel on the network logon screen, I clicked OK. This logged me in as "Default User" and then I was able to access the network. |
