Windows 98 bootup

I have an old PC running Windows 98 that I've moved to the basement for my
young daughter to play games on. Somehow, she created a password protection
that comes up during the boot up process but we don't know what the password
is. I can't get past this password and get the computer to operate.

Any suggestions?

If it comes up during initial boot process it is most likely a bios
password.
This can be reset by opening the case and resetting CMOS or by removing the
onboard battery for a period of time (say 5 minutes).
Note: The power connector from the back of the case should be removed prior
to trying this.

If it is during windows startup using cancel should get you past. Then you
can do a search for *.pwl and delete the password file.
