explorer error

HI,

I am reinstalling windows me on my computer and it had a corrupt explorer
error that is why I am reinstalling. The problem is when I reinstall it stops
at the explorer.exe and says that it is corrupt and you must reinstall
windows. Can I boot to a set up disk and then to dos and go to the windows
directory and rename the explorer.exe file and then do a reinstall and will
it still work? The machine had some spy ware errors that is why I am
installing over want to save data on machine.

Read these instructions carefully, as many times as necessary, to properly
reinstall WinME "in place".
Additional explanatory details are in several places recently in the WinME
ng's in posts by Noel Paton and Mike Malby.
You must uninstall IE6 and disable WMP9, if installed currently.

ajv2003, I concur with Mr. Paton.

OTH, I can sell you several authentic Celeron processors for about as much
as the several US Defense agencies were paying for toilet plungers several
years ago, ...AND, I will guarantee them to work, ... unlike the defense
contractors did for the plungers! vbg
