How to determine if 98 is upgrade or not?

System information reports: MS Windows 4.10.1998; Upgrade using full OEM CD
/T:C:\WININSTO.400 /SrcDir=D:\WIN98 /IZ /IS /IQ /IT /II /NR /II /C
/U:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I assume this means windows 95 was upgraded using a full version of windows
98?

Right click My Computer, click Properties. What does it say on the General
tab for System? What is the version number?

How to determine if 98 is upgrade or not?

It says Microsoft Windows 98 4.10.1998 under System...

but does that ensure that it wasn't installed as an upgrade to 95?

Its an oldie and i have no cd for it.
I want to buy a cd that has all the cab files I need... would an upgrade cd
have all the files?

How to determine if 98 is upgrade or not?

I assume different. As you have an OEM install, I deem it unlikely
that it could be an upgrade over Win95, but what does it matter?
The same system files exist in an upgrade CD as in a full CD, though
OEMs may vary that.

How to determine if 98 is upgrade or not?

thanks...theorhetically one could buy a win98 upgrade cd and have all the
files needed when win98 asks for the cd to add files/software like
"accessibility"? Even if the licenses are different?

How to determine if 98 is upgrade or not?

To add to that...Why would system information use the word "upgrade", my
assumtion that it was an upgrade was based on that? Relook at the system
information I posted if your in doubt. It's exactly as stated, give or take
a few x's.
