lack of colours after install of windows me
 

After upgrading to windows Me from windows 95 I have now lost all my colours
and only have 16 colours on display and a screen size of 640 x 480. I used to
have over two hundred!! Any ideas??

someone installed ME for me. is the video driver contained on the install
disc or on my computer already?

No. You have to go to the manufacturer of the video card's web site
unless you have an on board video card which would mean going to your
motherboard manufacturer's web site. Right click on My
Computer/Properties/hardware/device manager and see what it says there
about your video card and report back.

to be honest i'm not sure what i'm looking for i'm a relative novice to this
game. i;ve changed my adapter to super vga and that has solved my screen size
now at 800 x 600. just the colours to go, under my hardware properties says
original configoration. I have other heading of device manager but it hay
lists of things and not sure what i should be looking at! :)

you may need to reinstall display drivers.

Reboot to Safe Mode
Open Device Manager
Remove ALL Display Adapters
Remove ALL Monitors
Reboot to Normal Mode - Windows will reinstall the required drivers -
hopefully curing your problem.
