Hi

anytime I attempt to download something from the internet,
other than from Microsoft windows update, all I get is a
blank page. For instance, when I tried to download
the "Spybot" program, it said it would begin downloading
and then it opened a blank page. It does this with all
downloads, it seems.

The registry fix mentioned at the URL may sort out your problem, especially
if you are having problems downloading exe files:
